FLEETING GLIMPSES

They came and went

Yes

Light bulbs inviting

Somewhat beckoning

Moments eventful

Tucked beneath

Fleeting glimpses

Scrolling

Waving past

*

Oblivious of insurmountable clout they bore

I stared blankly

Occasionally elevating eyebrow

Disconnected at heart often

From the foray before my eyes

I knew it not

Fathomed not

Mystery hidden beneath the trail

Enigma to say the least

Come to think of it in retrospect

A worthwhile saying indeed

They are not what they seem to be

Things

And still waters run deep

For an iceberg is not an equivalent of its tip

Neither are they always prominent

Things that could permanently alter life’s course

Prominently

**

How amazing

Lesson learnt best

From the best

As they came and went

Yes

Light bulbs inviting

Somewhat beckoning

Moments eventful

Tucked beneath

Fleeting glimpses

Scrolling

Waving past

In a trail

Sometimes one could almost see this sealed countdown to the grand

Somewhere in the beneath of beneaths

***

Each subsequent sequence an advanced version of the former

I knew I was getting closer

Defining moment

Still I’m yet to reconcile

Discrepancy revealed

How substance so momentous

Could be veiled in such fleeting glimpses

Inviting

Somewhat beckoning

Scrolling

Waving past

In a trail

***

So it turns out

Beauty lying in the eyes of its beholder

Profound in mystery and implication

For though the glimpse flashes in fleeting fashion

Yet it could last forever on impact

At connection imprint

Moment in a lifetime

That’s a story for another day though

And there is a reason what is

And what used to be

Exist worlds apart

Far as east is from the west

  1. Excellent! (did you mean ‘glimpses’ though?)
    Much is illusion, yes.

  2. “They are not what they seem to be”… well written. You put into words thoughts that haunt as life goes on, searching for that moment when truth is exposed. “I know I am getting closer” – for sure… one day the truth will be revealed in Ray’s death. God bless.

    1. It is that hope keeps us going, eagerly looking forward to the place of utmost peace, And perfect light where details reveal to the very latter…truth’s last laugh….like no other!
