The Epitome

There was a major stir within the royal courts as the flamboyant contingent of luminaries blazed through for the exit. The city was on high alert following news just in. State officials, military and intelligence chiefs were making their way to the first house for an emergency priority meeting .Word was already rife within the echelons of power the Nation was at the verge of a state of emergency.

The rare entourage moved through the city in a dazzling phenomenon. They were under the watchful eye of the elite security forces acting on a presidential directive, to be enforced until they were out of the city’s jurisdiction. Of great interest to the flummoxed onlookers were their sophisticated cosmic paraphernalia and the great prowess that marked every step of their progression on the back of their animals. Clad in distinct royal attire, they were seen going through what appeared to be maps while others were using various instruments to get a clearer view of the sky. They gestured and pointed across the sky while conversing in discreet tones with part of their security detail and handlers bringing the rear in a steady focused exit from the city.  “What is this?!” came a shout from across the street.

Meanwhile, the situation was heating up in the crisis room. There were conflicting perspectives on what this development meant for the present and future. The King’s fury was ferociously sending ripples throughout the City. Some of his officials were evidently at a loss why all this should trace its source to a new-born child!

A few hours from the City, the visitors moved on. “There it goes again! The same one!” Exclaimed Jin pointing to the sky and lowering his visual aid.

“Wow! wow! wow!” Look at the trail behind it! Such a spectacle! X, the most elderly in the team marveled. “This is where our story ends!”

“Story?!” shouted Chao, finding it difficult to conceal his surprise.

The old man struggled to contain the intensity rising within him, his index finger raised. “Search every record you want and you will accurately observe it was all pointing to this event. Believe it or not, this is the one event that will change the course of the entire universe! This dawn!” His voice was an emphatic half whisper.

“A part of me is still in wonder, denial or something in between.” Jin interjected. “Isn’t this expecting a bit too much from a child? Yet you really sense it right into your core there is a shifting underway all across humanity. Did you see that look on the King’s eyes? Someone is probably dead by now!”

Chao’s rising discomfort was more evident: “Think about it for a moment folks, so this child is born…!”

“King Chao! King!”  Interrupted X, his tone impatient. “Do you remember that amazing sign in the sky soon as his star appeared?”

“That was so incredible! Oh!” Shouted Jin. “I mean this one star appears and in a flash every other star goes dim…just like that gentlemen! Just like that!

“That’s the point Jin!” We were part of that dimming scenario. This child is everything we have tried to resolve and discover. The epitome of all stardom and source of prominence! He brings all mystery from the end to the fore. Our role fades his sparkles. ”He will be insurmountable, til the culmination of his cause! Our story ends here so, that goes for you too Chao!

We have accurately foretold the rise and fall of many stars. We’ve been custodians of superior wisdom and knowledge. Kingdoms, Nations and princes have looked up to us for insights, predictions and counsel. Our fame undisputedly precedes us in every respect.

Not any longer! No one, nothing will outshine or outlive him, not in this civilization…till the end of time. He is the missing link through the generations that has finally fallen in place! He unlocks all mystery! The desire of the ages! His light will blaze the world over with such unquenchable intensity”

“A part of me feels so much at peace”, Jin continued. “Our hard work through the centuries, numerous intricate details involved. Could it be the one who holds it all in his hands is finally here? What took him so long then?!”

“Who exactly is this child? Someone please explain to me!” Chao blurted out in frustration.

“This King!” X interjected impatiently.

“Child…Fine a child King…King…Child! Whatever!” he pulled violently on his reins, causing his animal to stagger. “Goodness! I feel so small! I have to see to believe! He better have a crown on his head when I get there! I’m serious!”

X sighed heavily, staring thoughtfully into the sky, his tone gently oozing authority and great conviction. “I am advanced in years and grateful to the heavens for the opportunity to witness this glorious culmination before I am on my way to the other side. What an honor. You all hopefully have lots of time in your hands. Strive earnestly in your ambition to find your definition, meaning and significance within this star, child or king whichever works for you. You will be wise indeed if you heed. Your onus.
